PUNTARENAS THE PEARL OF THE PACIFIC RECEIVES THE 11TH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL TROMBONE FESTIVAL
A space with individual classes, master classes, recitals, chamber music workshops and many more activities, awaits participants at the prestigious International Trombones Festival of Costa Rica 2019, from May 13 to 16 at the Pacific Headquarters of the University of Costa Rica.
The eleventh edition will feature the participation of Toby Oft, principal trombone of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, who along with the members of Trombones de Costa Rica, will be part of the training spaces, specifically with bronze players, national and international.
Trombones de Costa Rica will perform Monday at 7:00 p.m. in La Casa de la Cultura. On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m Luis Fred will conduct the trombone choir of florida university at the Pacific Headquarters and on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Toby Oft will perform at the Puerto Azul Hotel.
The festival will close on Thursday, May 16 with Final Concert at 6:00 pm. and a Jam Trombone on Isla Cocos, at 8:30 p.m.
Trombones Costa Rica is conformed by Martin Bonilla, main trombonist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica and professor of trombone of the University of Costa Rica, Luis Fred main trombonist of the Symphony Orchestra of Puerto Rico (1998-2017) and professor of trombone University of Central Florida, Leonel Rodríguez professor of the University of Costa Rica, director of the Rumba Jam group, and César Fumero, trombonist under the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica.
